GIS for MIS/DSS purposes

If i was a company considering a GIS for MIS/DSS purposes, I would go with GRASS GIS do to a few things, GRASS GIS was originally designed by the US Army Corps of Engineers ,it is a open source program , it is FREE FREE FREE everybody love's free. Two key features that steer me in the way of GRASS GIS are 1:GRASS contains 350 programs and tools to render maps and images.
and 2: Grass uses both an intuitive windows interface as well as a command line syntax for ease of use. if you find that you are interested in GRASS GIS you can find the software at (http://grass.osgeo.org)...

digital library free for all

I believe a digital library for all is very possible considering the almost limitless resources we have on hand now in the world some of the resources it would need would be a extremely large amount of storage spread across a large network kind of like a cloud computing situation i believe but do all of this would require a lot of money to implement but at the same time would allow some people who normally would not read a book because they were not sure they would like to purchase it the opportunity to read it free of charge witch would in turn lead to a more knowledgeable human race. i really have no arguments against the publishers lobby because i believe the should be a charge in some way to compensate for some of the lost proceeds for these publishers.
